In Pakistan There is a big shortage of Educational Institutions for medical sector that is the reason that there is a shortage of professional doctors. according to a report of Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) There are only 89 medical colleges in Pakistan that are registered in with HEC and PM&DC. In that total number of 89 medical colleges the number of private colleges are 51 while the number of public colleges is 38 which means that the private organizations are working more efficiently than government in this particular field. Well here i am going to discuss about a medical college which was established by government in Province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that is named as KUST Institute of Medical Sciences.
KUST Institute of Medical Sciences was established in 2005 in the southern city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that is named Kohat also named “City of Streams”.The Inauguration of KIMS was performed on Thursday April 6, 2006 by the then Governor KPK Mr Khalil-ur-Rehman. Here KUST is stand for Kohat University of Science and Technology. The College was established in the first decade of 21st century, it was the time when the government of pakistan had realized the situation and was trying to keep it under control by establishing institutions on the different regions of Pakistan and KUST Institute of Medical Sciences was one of those medical colleges. Well in Kohat there was a big shortage of institutions in all the fields and especially in medical sector.
Now the University is authorized by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) and Higher Education Commission (HEC) and working with the dedication according to the standards of education which have been set by the HEC and PM&DC.
